Volunteer with 4KIDS

4KIDS Volunteers provide practical help and encouragement to foster children & their families in our homes, the young adults in our programs, or provide assistance to our staff. Specifically, 4KIDS has two types of volunteers, 4MOST and 4FRONT.

4MOST Volunteers provide general support at our events, in our programs, and/or foster homes.

  • Individuals can provide wrap around support to a foster family by bringing a monthly meal, tutoring a child, or assisting with housework on an ongoing basis.
  • Individuals can serve in preparation for or at a 4KIDS Event as their schedule permits.
  • 4MOST Volunteers do not need to go through a clearance process, provide references, or commit to serving on a reoccurring basis.

4MOST Volunteers may also put together a team of 6-8 volunteers from their local church, civic group, or workplace to conduct a “Home Takeover” service project for one or more of our 4KIDS homes in order to keep them well-maintained and a welcoming home for children, teens and young people who have aged out of foster care. Group Project Inquiry

4FRONT Volunteers are background screened and commit to serving a minimum of 1-2 times per month for one year.

As required by the Department of Children and Families, cleared and vetted 4FRONT Volunteers are able to provide the valuable service of childcare or mentorship for children, teens, or young adults in the care of 4KIDS. They can also handle confidential documents as a 4KIDS office volunteer.

In addition to the Level II Background Screening, 4KIDS also requires 2 Personal References and 1 Church Leader Reference. These requirements are for the safety and protection of vulnerable children who have experienced abuse, abandonment and/or neglect and to ensure you are ready and able to minister to them.
