2019 Empowered to Connect Conference

4KIDS is hosting a simulcast of the Empowered to Connect Conference with the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development especially for foster and adoptive parents. This two-day conference is designed to equip parents with practical ways to connect with their children in order to help them heal and become all that God desires them to be.

Empowered to Connect incorporates Trust Based Relational Intervention®. A model that is attachment-based, trauma-informed and designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses:

• Empowering Principles to address physical needs,
• Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and
• Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.

While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research; the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection.

This is a great resource for 4KIDS foster and adoptive parents by restoring healthy attachment and connection for kids healing from trauma.

Friday, April 26th to Saturday, April 27th from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days.

Childcare: Due to limited availability, childcare is available only to 4KIDS families (foster or adoptive). If you wish to be considered for childcare you must pre-register and have confirmation of availability prior to the event.

Lunch: There will be 1 hour and 15 minute period for lunch. A snack lunch will be available both days. During the lunch period families are expected to supervise their own children.
