4KIDS Life Insurance

Gifting Your Life Insurance

Consider using your life insurance policy to give to 4KIDS. Your gift will change the lives of children in foster care, youth who have aged out of foster care with nowhere to go, and young women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.

Gifting life insurance is a simple and convenient way to become a 4KIDS Legacy Partner. Many find this enables them to make a larger charitable gift than otherwise possible.

You can give your policy to 4KIDS in two ways:

  1. As a beneficiary: You can designate the 4KIDS as a beneficiary of all or a portion of a life insurance policy that has served its original purpose. You still own your policy and the decision is revocable. You may use your policy for your needs during your lifetime, including borrowing from its cash value or cash in the policy. Your estate may receive a charitable estate tax deduction for the amount of the insurance received by 4KIDS.
  2. As an owner and beneficiary: Another option is to name 4KIDS as the beneficiary and owner of certain types of insurance policies. Designating 4KIDS as the owner is an irrevocable decision and certain benefits include:
    • the policy may entitle you to an immediate income tax deduction.
    • additional premium payments you make may also be deductible as a charitable contribution.

Ask your life insurance company for the forms needed to designate 4KIDS as the beneficiary or beneficiary/owner of your life insurance policy.

If you or your financial and legal advisors have questions, please call Joel Ceballo, Gift Planning Manager, at 954.590.1541 or by email giftplanning@4KIDS.us.
