God desires that His church would rise up and be the solution to a world that needs Him. FAM exists to be just that. James 1:27 tells us specifically how we, the Church, can be the answer—caring for the orphan. Children in foster care need a loving community around them and FAM equips volunteers to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Much like extended family, FAM is a team of 4-8 committed volunteers who support a foster family through prayer and service. Volunteers offer support in the following ways:
- Consistent Prayer
- Bringing meals
- Providing childcare
- Transporting children to appointments
- Mentoring or tutoring children
- Coordinating volunteers for a foster family
- Supplying or sourcing practical needs – eg. bunk beds, strollers, car seats, clothing…
FAM team members commit to serving the foster family at least once per month in a specific role. Team members are asked to serve the foster family for one year.
